Kim Gilbert

Ms. Gilbert is a Senior Vice President for Claro Healthcare’s Inpatient CDI practice with an extensive background in the healthcare environment.  Kim has over 38 years in nursing and 17 years of experience in clinical documentation improvement, medical necessity and compliance auditing, consulting, curriculum development and education.

Relevant Experience

Kim continues to effectively work with hospital leadership, coding and CDS teams with assessment, education, and training on clinical documentation improvement methodology.  Kim’s prior experience in clinical documentation, auditing, and the HIM arena include coding manager for a large manage advantage plan physician group, clinical Documentation improvement specialist, revenue cycle nurse auditor at several large academic medical centers and lead auditor for a CMS ZPIC program.

Professional Background

Kim holds both a BSN in nursing and Master’s in Business Administration with 19 years of ICU nursing in a large academic medical center as a unit educator.  She is a member of AHIMA and HFMA. Various coding certifications that she holds or has once held include, CPC, CCS and AHIMA ICD 10 Trainer.
