Venanzio is the Chairman and a Managing Director of Claro Healthcare. He has over 30 years of experience in serving clients in a variety of industries in both the public and private sector. He is a recognized and proven leader in reimbursement, performance improvement and all aspects of the revenue cycle for the U.S. healthcare provider market. He has deep experience in assisting clients with strategy development, executive coaching, enterprise wide cost reduction, payor strategy, quality improvement and hospital profiling.
Venanzio also specializes in healthcare performance improvement consulting. His experience includes clinical documentation programs, turnaround, bankruptcy, outpatient reimbursement, charge capture, working capital management, receivables acceleration, strategic sourcing, and supplier relationship management. He has worked with over 280 healthcare providers ranging from small rural facilities to large urban academic medical centers to multi-hospital health systems.
Venanzio has been the lead on teams that have helped realize over $2.5 billion in annual cost savings for clients. He is a recognized expert in strategic sourcing and has spoken extensively, been quoted and has made various media (television and radio) appearances on the topics of strategic sourcing and healthcare clinical documentation. Prior to Claro Healthcare, Venanzio was a Managing Director at BearingPoint and led the Global Strategic Sourcing and Procurement practice as well as the Healthcare Clinical Documentation Practice. Prior to BearingPoint, he was a Partner at Arthur Andersen Business Consulting where he led the North American Strategic Sourcing Practice and the Healthcare Clinical Documentation Practice.
Venanzio holds a B.S. in Accountancy from the University of Illinois. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Adventist Midwest Health System. He serves on the Illini Leadership Council, a Chicago based group of alumni of the Urbana Campus of the University of Illinois that works to increase the connectivity between the 120,000 Chicago area alumni and the University of Illinois.
